Quick verdict

The scale we reach for when capacity matters

We have used the Etekcity Luminary kitchen scale for about 2½ years for weighing outgoing packages, general cooking, and measuring larger recipe batches. It has been dependable, the rechargeable battery lasts a long time in our use, and its 22 lb / 10 kg capacity gives it much more headroom than a pocket precision scale. For small-business use, that combination makes it especially convenient when a packed order is too heavy for a fine-measurement scale.

How we use it for the business

One of its most practical jobs is weighing completed packages before shipment. That helps us check the package weight without pulling out a separate postal scale. We also use it while making larger batches and recipes where 1-gram increments are appropriate.

22-pound capacity is the big advantage

The current listing for this model specifies a 22 lb / 10 kg maximum capacity with 1 g increments. That is a very different job from our smaller GDEALER scale, which we reserve for much finer ingredient measurements. We like having both rather than forcing one scale to do everything.

Rechargeable is genuinely convenient

The built-in rechargeable battery has been one of the nicest quality-of-life features. We do not charge it often, and in our use it seems to hold a charge for a long time. The model uses USB-C charging, so there is no need to keep replacing disposable batteries.

What we like—and what to know

What works
  • About 2½ years of dependable use
  • 22 lb / 10 kg capacity
  • Rechargeable battery with long runtime in our use
  • Useful for packages, cooking and larger formula batches
  • Easy-to-read illuminated display
What to know
  • Its 1 g increments are not meant for ultra-fine formulation work
  • For tiny ingredient amounts, we still use a dedicated precision scale

Where it fits in our setup

These scales solve different jobs in the same small-business workflow. One favors capacity and everyday versatility; the other favors fine measurements when a formula needs much smaller increments.
